09. Green Veins

Edinburgh, UK

9th October 2010

I was leading an Edinburgh University Photographic Society trip to the city's botanical gardens. It was a cold and dreary day, so most people wanted to retreat to the warmth of the glass houses. Turning away from autumn's richly coloured leaves, a few of us were drawn to those of the exotic Amazonian lily. What was perhaps more impressive than its size was its green-ness, which was accentuated by the overcast sky.
