Staying with friends in Ontario's 'Cottage Country' during the summer holidays, I got up early one morning to do some photography. The star of the morning was this chipmunk, who had been playing around the woodshed and was now refueling on flowers. It was a little shy at first, so I decided to give it a bit of space. I noticed that I could actually photograph through the tree which was now in front of me to create a 'frame' around the chipmunk so, placing a couple of yellow flowers into the leaves to add a bit of colour and warmth, I went against taking a run-of-the-mill shot and instead took this tender portrait.
