03. City Starlings

This was the 5th trip that I had made to the WWT London Wetland Centre in as many days - the reason was to photograph the immense starling flocks that sometimes congregate there in autumn. This group was small, about 200 birds only, but perfectly grouped against the white sky. As soon as they took off, I fired away, focussing on the two perched birds and using a high shutter speed so that all the birds around them would be frozen in flight.
